| September 8, 2008 Fall is finally here! Gas prices are coming down a little! In recognition of the slow economy and rising prices we've decided to drop our prices by $1.00 per item beginning in Oct and continuing till the end of 2008. The $18 aprons will be $17, the Mother/daughter sets will go down to $28. , etc. Our costs have remained steady til now, enabling us to do this. We're hoping to find some Halloween related prints on the next fabric buying trip this month. Happy Hour
Happy Hour is a bib apron with 2 pockets, made with a Village cotton duck fabric. The print is of cocktail glasses in red, blue, yellow and green colors on a white background. Construction of the aprons A word here about how the aprons are put together - We use nylon invisible thread for all the sewing. It passes over all the different colors and picks them up, so that it blends into the fabric. The stitches hardly show. Many of the aprons with larger prints have a pocket that's cut to blend into the pattern, making them practically invisible, especially in the pictures. We used to do that with all the aprons, but to save time and cost we stopped matching the smaller prints. Its not necessary for the beauty of the apron, and as an added bonus we find we can put 2 pockets on without using extra fabric (that would increase cost). We still match up the large patterns. All raw edges are turned under and stitched, so no threads are going to come loose during washing and wearing. Even the ends of the ties are stitched down. Top corners of the pockets are reinforced with a satin stitch. All the tie ends are turned under the hem and sewn on securely. Add me to your email list for Newsletter. Whats New? Sunshine & Flowers This pretty apron is made with a Kaufmann cotton fabric. It's a soft twill weave. It has 2 pockets which are cut to blend into the apron pattern so that they don't distract from the overall picture. Colors are a sunshine yellow and flowers are almost flame colored. It will be a cheerful apron to wear in the fall and winter!!.
